Job summary

Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduling Coordinator to manage centralized scheduling for our cardiology team, APPs and surgeons. You will answer calls, process referrals, handle clinical workload requests, and perform data entry across EMR systems to coordinate patient appointments and procedures.

This 40-hour week role requires a High School diploma; an Associate degree is preferred. Prior experience in medical office operations is a plus.

Our commitment to excellence has earned us the distinction of being one of only a handful of hospitals nationwide – out of more than 4,000 – to achieve a double 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.Position HighlightsPosition Summary:Centralized scheduling for the NCH cardiologists, APP’s and surgeons, including answering incoming patient and referring office calls, electronic referral processing, clinical workload requests, following up on voicemails, data entry of single to multiple appointments utilizing multiple screens and modules to coordinate with acute and ambulatory modules, EMR creation, obtaining patient demographics and instructing patients prior to procedures according to guidelines.Work Schedule:Forty hours per week, Monday through Friday. Hours are 8 am until 5 pm.Education/Experience:High School diploma required. Associate degree from an accredited university/college and/or hospital, medical office, clinic, or hospital business operations experience preferred.Licensure/Certification:None required.
