Job summary

Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an RN to support cardiology services in clinic, outreach, and hospital settings. You will obtain and document initial patient histories, past medical histories, and current medications prior to physician review, then assist in implementing the plan of care.

The role supports Monday–Friday with additional Saturday calls; 20–30 hours per week, requiring current RN licensure and BLS/ACLS certifications. Experience in critical care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Two years of critical care experience preferred.
• Current state RN licensure or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact; MN licensure within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

Position Highlights

Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting the cardiologists and surgeons in the clinic, outreach, and hospital setting. The RN is responsible to obtain and document the initial history of present illness, past medical history, and current medications prior to the physician seeing the patient. The RN is responsible for implementing and carrying out the plan of care established by the physician either through delegation to the appropriate departments or completing the plan themselves.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday; Saturdays with AHH Call MD; Variable work hours according to MD schedule. 20-30 hours per week.

Education/Experience:

Graduate of a nursing program. Two years of critical care experience is preferred

Licensure/Certification:

Registered Nurse with current state licensure or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact. MN licensure required within 6 months of start date. Current BLS and ACLS certification
