Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years chiller plant operation experience preferred or obtainable through training.
• City of Chicago Stationary Engineer's License or obtainable within two years.
• EPA Refrigerant Certification or obtainable within two years.
• ASME Welding Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains gas/oil fired boilers and chiller systems.
• Adjusts fuel feed, draft openings, water level and steam pressure.
• Operates turbines, pumps, motors, air compressors, fans and related equipment.
• Monitors meters and systems for proper operation and safety.
• Troubleshoots equipment; replaces burners and tightens fittings as needed.
• Tests water treatment and maintains logs of readings.
• Documents operations and maintenance actions in logbooks.
• Maintains equipment through lubrication and part replacement.
• Assists in training new staff and adheres to safety practices.
