Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a patient transport professional to provide safe and efficient intra-facility transportation of patients. You will escort patients to examination rooms, diagnostic areas, operating rooms, and other treatment locations while ensuring safety, comfort, and adherence to hospital protocols.

This role involves handling messages, documents, and supplies with confidentiality, in a high-volume healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to/from examination rooms, diagnostic areas, ORs, or treatment areas.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during transportation.
  • Follow protocols for patient transport, including wheelchair and stretcher use.
  • Receive and prioritize messages, documents, and supplies for delivery.
  • Deliver items to recipients with accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation for patients within the healthcare facility. Facilitates the timely delivery of messages, documents, and supplies to various departments, ensuring effective communication and support throughout the organization.

Essential Functions
  • Escort patients to and from various locations within the healthcare facility, such as examination rooms, diagnostic areas, operating rooms, or other treatment areas.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during transportation, taking into account their specific needs and mobility limitations.
  • Follow established protocols and procedures for patient transportation, including the use of appropriate equipment, such as wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • Receive and prioritize messages, documents, and supplies for delivery throughout the facility.
  • Deliver messages and documents to appropriate recipients, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Experience in a healthcare or customer service-related role. 1-2 years preferred
