Job summary

United Hospital Center is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Technician to receive, clean, decontaminate and sterilize reusable patient care equipment and supplies in a fast-paced perioperative setting. You will maintain inventory and assist OR staff with instrument needs to support efficient case carts and sterile services.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and certification (HSPA CRST or CBSPD CSPDT); one year of sterile processing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician through HSPA or CSPDT through CBSPD.
• Graduate of a vocational/ college Central Sterile processing program (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Print, verify and assemble the Perioperative Surgical schedule daily.
• Coordinate instrument/room needs with OR leadership.
• Restock case carts and surgical services supplies accurately.
• Inspect, assemble and sterilize all instrumentation per policy.
• Maintain sterilization records and inventory levels.
• Assist in training new employees and guiding sterile techs.
