Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment following infection control guidelines. You will handle steam and low-temperature sterilization, inspect kits, and ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments across hospital departments.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and after one year of full-time work experience, you should pursue central sterile certification through CBSPD.

Responsabilidades

• Follows manufacturer instructions for use for steam and low temperature sterilization.
• Follows manufacturer instructions for use for decontamination, disinfection of instruments, and flexible endoscopes according to department standards and industry guidelines.
• Demonstrates knowledge of surgical instrument kits.
• Demonstrates knowledge of how to properly inspect and assemble kits.
• Adheres to hospital policies for CSR as well as follow AAMI guidelines (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instruments).
• Performs equipment testing: Bowies and Biologicals, and reports any abnormal results to the supervisor.
• Delivery of sterile instruments and kits in a timely manner, within 48 hours, to other departments within the hospital.
• Maintains a clean work environment in accordance to regulator guidelines and hospital policy.
• Attends staff meetings and in services.
• Stays up to date on departmental communication and required annual and periodical competencies.
• Participates in orientation of new staff as needed.
• Completes other daily tasks as requested and assigned.
• Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned.
• Answer the phone and take messages when needed.
• Help with different reps that come in with trays or help with them taking trays out.
• Help the OR when they are looking for a kit or instrument.

Required Licensure/Certifications

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: Central Sterile certification required 18 months years of hire; to be obtained through CBSPD.
