Job summary

SCR St. Claire Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Technician to support patient care by cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.

You will assemble trays, respond to OR requests, and ensure cleanliness of the department and workstations in a fast-paced environment. The role requires adherence to universal precautions and regulatory standards, plus certifications such as CSPD/CRCST/CER.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with vocational/technical training.
• 0–2 years in healthcare or clinical setting preferred.
• CSPD, CRCST or CER certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, decontaminates, and sterilizes equipment, supplies, and instruments.
• Assembles instrument trays and packs for various surgical cases.
• Prepares disinfectants and other solutions for decontamination.
• Operates washers and ultrasonic cleaners for processing.
• Runs and records biological/diagnostic tests related to sterilization.
• Keeps logs and sections of the department organized and compliant.
