Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital in Augusta, GA is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to support sterile processing and instrument preparation.

You will collaborate with Perioperative Nursing staff to maintain instrument sets, ensure decontamination standards, and help sustain efficient workflow to deliver exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Central Sterile Tech program required.
• In lieu of CST certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts.
• Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Education

• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
