Job summary

Garden City Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to join our team. You will decontaminate, prepare, and sterilize trays and instruments, while ensuring accurate inventory and stock levels throughout the department.

The role requires strong communication skills and attention to detail, with preferred experience in an acute care hospital and relevant certifications. This is a full-time, on-site position in Michigan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required for new hires.
• Two years’ experience as Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Central Supply Certified certification required or preferred within two years from date of hire.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, and equipment.
• Inventory management and restocking of supplies; data entry and patient charge card batching.

Responsibilities

The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, equipment, inventory and restocking of supplies, computer data entry and patient charge card batching. Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within facility and ability to access all departments. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates detailed awareness and knowledge of patient supplies and equipment.

• 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• 2. Two (2) years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• 3. Central Supply Certified certification, preferred
• 4. Current BLS (AHA) certificate, preferred
• 5. At least two (2) years experience as a Central Sterile Technician required
• 6. Current BLS (AHA) certificate.
• 7. Central Supply Certified certification required
• 8. Central Supply Certified certification required within two years from date of hire at designated facilities
