Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin seeks a Central Sterile Technician to decontaminate, prepare, and sterilize trays, instruments, and equipment in a fast-paced hospital setting. Evening shift, part-time status, and opportunities to contribute to patient safety.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years of CST experience, and a Current BLS certification; Central Supply certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• At least two (2) years experience as a Central Sterile Technician required; in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Central Supply Certified certification, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, prepare, and sterilize Central Sterile trays and instruments.
• Maintain inventory, restock supplies, and perform data entry and patient charge batching.
