Job summary

Garden City Hospital in Michigan is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to join our team. You will decontaminate, prepare, and sterilize trays, instruments and equipment, manage inventory, and process patient charge batches in a fast-paced hospital setting.

We value accuracy and strong communication; candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, be eligible for Central Supply Certification, and hold a current BLS (AHA). Prior CST experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Two (2) years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Central Supply Certified certification, preferred
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate, preferred

Responsibilities

• The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, equipment, inventory and restocking of supplies, computer data entry and patient charge card batching.
• Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within facility and ability to access all departments.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates detailed awareness and knowledge of patient supplies and equipment.

• Current BLS (AHA) certificate.

• Central Supply Certified certification required within two years from date of hire at designated facilities
