Job summary

Pavion is seeking a Central Station Operator to join our fire division in the United States. You will answer burglar and fire alarm signals, dispatch emergencies, and coordinate with police and fire departments during alarms.

Responsibilities include testing alarms with technicians, notifying customers of signals, monitoring surveillance, and communicating clearly under pressure. This role requires high school diploma and customer service experience, with weekend shifts available.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or GED required.
• Customer service experience required.
• Ability to handle multiple phone lines and high call volumes.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays, including both Saturdays and Sundays.

• Report irregularities to supervisor by telephone.

Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Central Station Operator to join our fire business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Answer burglar and fire alarm signals received via computer
• Effectively dispatch emergency alarms
• Coordinate activities with police and fire departments during alarms
• Place alarms in and out of test mode while technicians are servicing alarms
• Notify customers of alarm, trouble and supervisory signals on subscribers’ premises
• Monitoring of all types of alarm signals including but not limited to surveillance videos
• Effectively communicate with customers
• Multitask and manage priorities
• Contact supervisor by telephone to report irregularities and obtain further instructions

Basic Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or GED
• Customer Service Experience
• Ability to handle multi phone lines and high volume of incoming calls
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Must be able to work both Saturday and Sundays

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a central station operator
• Ability to use judgement and decision making skills to evaluate situations
• Ability work under stressful situations
• Actively listen and communicate effectively through clear speech and hearing

The hourly pay range for this position is $20-25 per hour . The starting hourly pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
