Responsibilities

• Process sterile surgical instrument trays for the operating room and other areas.
• Collect, clean, disinfect, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and other medical equipment.
• Maintain inventory and assist with supply orders.
• Track surgical instrument trays and mobile patient equipment through all phases of cleaning and sterilization using established manual systems.
• Reprocess surgical instruments, operate sterilization and decontamination equipment, and perform routine efficacy tests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in Central Sterile Processing from an accredited agency (CRCST or CSPDT) is required.
• Ability to learn, communicate effectively in English, and understand computer printouts.
