CHI St. Alexius Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Operating Room by preparing and sterilizing instruments, assembling trays, and ensuring supplies are properly charged and documented. The role emphasizes accurate processing, routing, and timely case support.

A Central Service Technician Certificate is required or can be obtained within 2 years of employment. High school education or equivalent is required; prior medical field experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Central Service Technician Certificate or may obtain this certification within 2 years of employment.

Responsabilités

• Assembles trays, single instruments and other items per manufacturer instructions and policies; inspects instrumentation for cleanliness, sharpness and good working order.
• Monitors biological and chemical testing and records results; follows up on positive tests.
• Disassembles, sorts, soaks and decontaminates instruments/equipment for terminal sterilization following procedures.
• Picks and wands instrumentation for surgical cases and assembles case carts; prioritizes cases to prevent delays.
• Checks in and wands unused supplies for completed cases; ensures charges and paperwork are completed.
• Receives and dispatches Operating Room calls and greets inquiries.
