Qualifications

• 5+ years of business development/marketing experience with retail producers.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
• First-hand understanding of team-based decision making in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Strong relationship development and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of property, casualty, and professional liability underwriting and claims.
• Ability to travel 50% or more; driving and flying frequently.

Responsibilities

• Producer Liaison: Build and maintain relationships with external trading partners and Markel Specialty teams.
• Market Strategist: Create and execute regional marketing strategies with underwriters and management.
• Coordinate producer visits with underwriters and leadership to ensure consistent marketing presence.
• Identify opportunities to develop business for existing and new products with brokers.
