Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System, Treasure Valley Labs in Boise, Idaho, seeks a part-time Central Processing Tech with phlebotomy/lab tech experience. The role supports central processing, specimen handling, and billing for reference labs, with weekend coverage as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, some college or an associate degree, and prior hospital or reference lab experience. Shifts are part-time, 20 hours weekly, with day shift scheduling.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Some college education or associate degree preferred.
Courses requiring lab work a plus.
Prior experience working in a hospital setting or reference laboratory preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and perform central processing activities for the clinical laboratory.
Ensure quality and quantity of inpatient and outpatient specimens sent for testing.
Handle billing functions for reference laboratories.
Register patient specimens from outside locations in the system.
Serve as a resource for laboratory test questions and EMR ordering.
Reports to the POCT Laboratory Coordinator and supports TVL laboratories.
