Responsibilities

1. Operate, maintain, and monitor electrical systems, boilers, chillers, air handling equipment, vacuum pumps, medical air compressors, and related equipment.
2. Use and understand the energy management system.
3. Perform building maintenance including plumbing and general tasks.
4. Assist vendors/contractors with maintenance of life-safety systems.
5. Participate in rotating on-call or non-regular shifts.
6. Manage hazardous waste according to safety protocols.
7. Document and track work orders using CMMS software.
8. Ensure compliance with JCAHO, federal, and state regulations.
9. May operate Mayo Clinic vehicles as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• At least five years' experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, including three years in central plant operations with water chemistry knowledge.
• Basic understanding of Windows-based software and preventative maintenance programs.
• Vocational/technical training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, or mechanical preferred.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of lock-out/tag-out procedures and safety policies.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• Customer service skills and team orientation.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license; refrigeration certification preferred.

Additional Details

• Exemption Status: Nonexempt
• Compensation: $27.44 - $41.16/hour, based on experience and tenure
• Schedule: Full-time, 80 hours/pay period, rotating shift from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, Monday-Sunday
• Location: Multiple Mayo Clinic campuses, including Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ
