Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and monitor electrical systems, boilers, chillers, air handling equipment, vacuum pumps, medical air compressors, and related equipment.
- Use and understand the energy management system.
- Perform building maintenance including plumbing and general tasks.
- Assist vendors/contractors with maintenance of life-safety systems.
- Participate in rotating on-call or non-regular shifts.
- Manage hazardous waste according to safety protocols.
- Document and track work orders using CMMS software.
- Ensure compliance with JCAHO, federal, and state regulations.
- May operate Mayo Clinic vehicles as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- At least five years' experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, including three years in central plant operations with water chemistry knowledge.
- Basic understanding of Windows-based software and preventative maintenance programs.
- Vocational/technical training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, or mechanical preferred.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of lock-out/tag-out procedures and safety policies.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Customer service skills and team orientation.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license; refrigeration certification preferred.
Additional Details
- Exemption Status: Nonexempt
- Compensation: $27.44 - $41.16/hour, based on experience and tenure
- Schedule: Full-time, 80 hours/pay period, rotating shift from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, Monday-Sunday
- Location: Multiple Mayo Clinic campuses, including Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ
