Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Operating Engineer 3rd Class to operate and maintain Central Plant equipment and building systems in a facilities setting. The role requires independent work and teamwork to support critical infrastructure operations.

The ideal candidate will have a DC 3rd Class Boiler Engineer License, an Active Secret Clearance, and 3+ years of related experience, with a focus on boilers, HVAC, and electrical systems. Safety compliance and accurate record-keeping are essential.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
• DC 3rd Class Boiler Engineer License required.
• Minimum of three (3) years in engineering services or related field.
• Experience operating boilers, HVAC and complex building systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain Central Plant equipment and building systems.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on boilers, HVAC systems, pumps, motors, and electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and implement repair solutions.
• Monitor system performance for efficient, uninterrupted facility operations.
• Maintain maintenance logs and regulatory documentation.
