Job summary

Complete Building Services (CBS) is seeking a DC 3rd Class Engineer to support full building operations with expertise in MEP systems, steam plant operations, and regulatory compliance. The role involves tours, daily watches, and managing temperatures, humidity, BAS displays, and alarms.

The candidate should have a valid DC Class 3 Steam Engineer license and substantial experience in steam generation, condensate recovery, and preventive maintenance, with strong analytical and organizational

Qualifications

• Valid DC Class 3 Steam Engineer license.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in steam plant operations.
• Experience with steam plant operations, chemical analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with computerized monitoring systems and automated control technologies.
• Strong knowledge of DC regulatory requirements for steam systems.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs for industrial equipment.
• Technical expertise in steam generation, condensate recovery, and cooling system operations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting plant issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), and BMS (Building Management Systems).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for record-keeping and reporting
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Engineers perform tours and daily watches to monitor safe system operations and maintain system to peak performance.
• Operate installed equipment, required temperatures and humidity levels, and BAS displays and alarms.
• Apply their knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipe-fitting, and plant operations to install, service, and maintain MEP systems, including preventive maintenance.
