Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Stationary Engineer to operate, maintain, and monitor building mechanical systems on a large corporate campus in Santa Clara, CA. You will manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BAS, and life-safety systems to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Key duties include routine inspections, responding to alarms, troubleshooting equipment, and coordinating with contractors. The role requires 3+ years of experience with central plant operations and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of experience operating and maintaining commercial building systems.
• Experience with central plant operations, HVAC, and building automation systems.
• Reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain central plant and building mechanical systems.
• Perform routine inspections of HVAC, chilled water, heating, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
• Respond to system alarms, equipment failures, and operational issues.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment as needed.
• Monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS) and adjust system performance to maximize efficiency.
• Complete preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established schedules.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and work orders.
• Support contractors and vendors performing maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Participate in emergency response activities and provide after-hours support when required.
