Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Building Engineer to support daily operations of building systems in Los Angeles and other locations. The role includes HVAC, electrical, plumbing maintenance, and collaboration with the engineering team to ensure reliability and energy efficiency.

The candidate should have strong blueprint literacy, BAS knowledge, and a minimum of 5 years in a related engineering role, with the ability to work Thursday through Monday shift. Local 501 union benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with building automation systems and control networks.
• Proficient computer skills for logs, reports, and BAS interfaces.
• Knowledge of energy conservation principles and preventive maintenance.
• Strong teamwork and communication with engineering staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems in the facility.
• Respond to tenant requests and close work orders promptly.
• Record data in building logbooks and perform routine tests.
• Provide hands-on training to other engineering team members.
• Support safety programs and adhere to safety policies.
