Job summary

ABM Industries in Downtown San Francisco is hiring a Stationary Engineer to operate, maintain, and repair building systems for a high-rise office property. Shift is Tue–Sat, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with a pay rate of $76.50 per hour and weekly pay.

The role supports tenant comfort and building operations within a union-represented environment. The engineer will monitor HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and BAS, perform inspections, troubleshoot equipment, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safe,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years’ experience operating/maintaining commercial building systems.
• Proficient in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with BAS and CMMS.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety, and BAS.
• Perform routine inspections of building equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, AHUs, VAVs, and related components.
• Monitor BAS and respond to alarms and system abnormalities.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on critical infrastructure.
• Maintain central plant equipment (chillers, cooling towers, boilers).
• Respond to tenant service requests and complete work orders.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors performing maintenance, repairs, and capital projects.
• Maintain maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment records.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, environmental regulations, and operating procedures.
