MasTec Communications Group is seeking an Installer II to install and configure central office equipment, read specifications, and ensure high-quality workmanship on long-term telecom projects. You will determine layouts, request parts, and document BOMs while traveling to customer sites as needed.

• Must be willing and available to travel away from home for several weeks at a time (up to 75%).
• Candidate will be working primarily in a central office, which is a structure used by telecommunications companies to house equipment needed to direct and process telephone calls and data traffic (Telephone Central Offices (CO's) are also known as telephone switching centers, wire centers, or telephone exchanges).

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret installation specifications for various construction projects.
• Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment.
• Identify and request parts necessary to establish low- and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and grounding.
• Create installation specifications and equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders.
• Create or correct location records, drawings, BOMs, installation notes, and memos for changes due to installation or engineering activities.
• Review installation specifications.
