Job summary

Gryphon Place in Michigan seeks dedicated information and referral crisis support staff. You will provide 24/7 crisis intervention by phone and online to the public and professionals, with 1st and 2nd shift hours and weekend availability required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; 40-hour training provided by Gryphon Place.
• Experience in human services is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and referral services and crisis intervention by phone and electronically.
• Interview clients, assess needs, identify resources, and link with other agencies.
• Advocate for inquirers and conduct follow-up to ensure needs are met.
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in training.
• Support outreach activities and agency programs; assist during disasters as needed.

STATEMENT OF THE JOB

• Provides information and referral services and crisis intervention services by phone and electronically to the public and community professionals 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
• We are hiring two (2) Full-Time and three (3) Part-Time positions (up to 20 hrs/Week). 1st and 2nd shift hours only! Weekend availability is a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interviews clients and conducts a thorough assessment of their needs
• Identifies appropriate resources
• Supports the client in implementing the referral and, when appropriate, makes the linkage with other agencies for the client
• Advocates for the inquirer, when necessary, to assist in contacting and utilizing resources.
• Conducts follow-up to ensure that the inquirer’s needs have been met
• Uses crisis management techniques in accordance with agency procedures
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation
• Responsible for staying current with all ongoing training requirements for both services
• Assists with community outreach activities as assigned by the management team
• Actively involved with agency programs and events
• Supports operations during times of disaster as defined by agency policy
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of agency processes and policies & procedures
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma and experience with human services preferred. Successful completion of 40-hour classroom training required (provided by Gryphon Place).
