Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Pharmaceutical Care, is seeking a full-time pharmacy technician to join our ACT Pharmacy team. Under pharmacist supervision, you will perform technical dispensing in a high-volume central fill and mail-order setting, ensuring accurate fulfillment of patient orders.

You will use the ScriptPro Robot, assist ambulatory pharmacies, manage inventory, train new technicians, and deliver prescriptions as needed.

Qualifications

Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy at time of hire.
National certification through PTCB or NHA required and maintained.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Any combination of two years of post-high school experience and/or education in the natural sciences OR completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.
Possession of the class (A/B/C/D) driver’s license appropriate to vehicle driven and/or materials transported.

Responsibilities

Fill/refill prescriptions and read labels for accuracy.
Label and package medications and note lot numbers/expiration dates.
Handle narcotics and controlled substances inventories including weekly/monthly checks.
Operate ScriptPro Robot and perform daily maintenance.
Assist with shipping, mailing, and delivery of prescriptions according to policies.
