The Central Dispatch Coordinator role delivers and picks up rental equipment, coordinating with Drivers, Rental Coordinators, Rental Managers, and other departments to ensure the highest level of customer service.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in equipment rental, trucking, or sales roles.
• Technical or military training or equivalent practical on-the-job training preferred.
• Broad knowledge of trucking and transportation of heavy equipment.
• Proficient in computer applications and software.
• Excellent communication and customer-relations skills.

Responsabilités

• Maintains on-time deliveries (90%+)/pickups within 2 days.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Central Dispatch Coordinator delivers and pick-ups all rental equipment, working with the Drivers, Rental Coordinators, Rental Managers, and other departments as necessary, to ensure highest level of customer service possible.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Answers phones and takes request for transportation and rental needs.
• Coordinates the timely delivery of equipment to the desired location per the customer’s request.
• Handles multiple incoming phone calls and multiple requests regarding transport, while providing exceptional customer service.
• Projects professional demeanor and courtesy when interacting with customers and Hawthorne associates.
• Maintains on-time Deliveries (90% or better) and equipment pick-ups within 2 days.
• Directs proper utilization of all trucks and other transportation equipment assigned to the department.
• Utilizes Hawthorne trucks and keeps sub-hauls to a minimum (within 5% per month).
• Processes and approves vendor invoices weekly to ensure accurate and timely payment.
• Assists management and others with special projects and other duties as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Must have at least two (2) years of experience in the equipment rental industry, truck driver, machine dispatcher or sales representative. Military experience in a similar occupational specialty would meet this requirement.
• Some advanced education in a technical school, specialized business school, military training, or equivalent in practical and on the job training preferred.
• Possess broad and in-depth knowledge of trucking and transportation of heavy equipment.
• Able to demonstrate high proficiency in computer applications.
• Excellent communication ability and high level of customer relation skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Walking and moving about on foot often through uneven terrain.
• Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts, small tools, batteries, and tampers. May lift up to 25lbs.
• Handling: Seizes, helps or works with hands.
• Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
• Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
• Climbing: In and out of equipment.
• Vision: Read rental documents, invoices and bills.
• Talking: Communications by radio, phone, and in person.
• Sitting: Sits in equipment and in vehicles.
• Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.

ENVIRONMENTAL

• Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
• Temperatures/Weather: Works in an office and outside with variations of temperature and weather.
• Exposure: Foul odors, fumes and harsh substances.
