Hawthorne Cat is seeking a Machinery Service Tech/Mechanic 2 - Field to diagnose and repair Caterpillar and allied equipment in the field. You will troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems, and perform repairs with minimal supervision while maintaining thorough service records.
We require a high school diploma, Level One Technician program completion, and a CA Class B license for field work. Experience with Cat tooling and on-site safety practices is essential.

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a technician, with minimal supervision, you are responsible for providing high quality repairs on Caterpillar and allied equipment. You will diagnose and troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical, and hydraulic systems; experience with cat diagnostic equipment, Cat repair tooling, rigging, and blocking equipment is essential. Due to multiple projects, you will be assigned, this position requires planning and organization skills with a particular emphasis on controlling job costs. You will investigate, analyze, and identify issues in order to make recommendations for the appropriate repairs. Our technicians work with a variety of people, communication skills that include strong interpersonal skills, effective writing, basic computer skills, and ability to respond to the lead technicians/management in a positive, caring, and timely manner is required.
