Job summary

Monogram Aerospace Fasteners is seeking an experienced Centerless Grinder for the 3rd shift (LG 9) in an on-site manufacturing setting in Commerce, CA. You will set up and operate the centerless grinder, read blueprints, and verify tolerances while maintaining logs and working as part of a collaborative production cell.

The role requires 1–3 years of grinding experience, ability to read engineering drawings, and precision measurement skills.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to read and write English as required by shop documents and computer software entry/processing requirements.
• Must be capable of applying mathematical operations using fractions, decimals, trigonometry and geometry as required by cell machining operations.
• Must read precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers and engineering diagrams similar or comparable to those used in grinding operations.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate centerless grinding machines to grind external or internal cylindrical or tapered surfaces to blueprint specifications and tolerances.
• Determine sequences of grinding operations, amount of cut and wheel dressing to perform tasks and may perform rework.
• Read blueprints and models to determine final dimensions and tolerances; verify dimensions and clearances with precision instruments.
• Maintain daily production logs and documentation, and participate in team problem solving to improve processes.
• Ensure safety and proper use of tools and equipment in a machine shop environment.

Education

Journeyman trade school graduate or equivalent
