Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Center Store Department Lead to support the Center Store Department Manager. You will lead with care, coach your team, and ensure every guest feels welcomed while keeping departments well-presented and organized.

You’ll work closely with your manager to run operations smoothly, resolve issues quickly, and step in as acting manager when needed. Responsibilities include monitoring labor, inventory, and promotions, guiding team members, and driving store profitability

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or general business.
• Strong leadership with ability to motivate and develop teams.
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional guest experience while meeting performance goals.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels, minimize shrink, and support ordering.
• Act as a resource for team members and guide in manager’s absence.
• Model and coach hospitality by engaging guests and creating positive experiences.
• Implement merchandising strategies and promotional plans to maximize sales.
• Analyze department financials and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with department leaders to drive store success.
• Use available technology to perform tasks.
