Job summary

DSST Public Schools is hiring a Center Program Special Education Teacher to support students with disabilities across nine center-based programs. You’ll lead instruction and case management within one program, supervising paraprofessionals and collaborating closely with families and general education staff to ensure inclusive learning environments.

Qualifications

• Must have teaching license and Colorado Special Education Endorsement.
• Experience serving students with disabilities and diverse needs is ideal.
• Strong collaboration with families and general education staff is expected.

Responsibilities

• Be an IEP Case Manager: manage a portfolio of students, write data-driven IEPs, develop goals, monitor progress, deliver targeted interventions, celebrate success with the team.
• Ensure Students Receive Accommodations/Modifications: partner with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications with consistency.
• Manage a Team: supervise and develop a team of Paraprofessionals.
• Deliver Rigorous & Engaging Content: plan and teach rigorous, culturally responsive content to 3-5 classes daily, depending on campus.
• Track and Support Student Growth: monitor outcomes with assessment tools to guide instruction.
• Promote Positive Culture: foster a positive classroom and school culture and build relationships with students and families.
• Pursue Professional Development: engage in coaching and development with focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
• Contribute to School Community: take on additional duties like recruitment support, small group advisory, after-school tutoring.
