Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a General Manager for the Ray and Joan Kroc Corp Community Center in Chicago. This role leads day-to-day operations, facilities, programs, and finances in alignment with the Salvation Army mission and ensures financial soundness.

The GM oversees budgeting, staff management, safety compliance, and vendor contracts, working with Kroc Officers to provide exceptional guest service and community impact.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Recreation Management or related field.
• Non-Profit Management experience and master’s degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and evaluate annual operating budgets.
• Provide leadership for fiscally sound programs within budget.
• Oversee budgeting, staffing, purchasing, and staff development.
• Ensure effective staff scheduling and coverage levels.
• Develop capital improvement plans with Kroc Officers and HQ.
• Oversee purchasing, supplies, and equipment requirements.
• Enforce facility safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with HR to maintain staff policies and operations manual.
• Conduct regular reviews to maintain Gold Level Kroc Center rating.
