Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a responsible General Manager to run one of our moving and storage centers in Walpole, MA. You will hire, train and mentor staff, manage inventory and equipment, and keep the center profitable and efficient by delivering high-quality customer care.

The role includes P&L responsibility, scheduling interviews, and ensuring safety and compliance. You will benefit from comprehensive benefits and opportunities for advancement, along with on-the-job training through U-Haul University.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
• Computer expertise
• Organizational expertise
• Management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to work weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment.
• Perform profit/loss analyses.
• Hire and mentor new team members.
• Track and itemize inventory.
• Manage the personnel budget.
• Ensure that customers receive the highest quality of care.
• Keep track of fuel receipts and petty cash.
• Clean and monitor the premises, and maintain a secure environment.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
