Job summary

AmeriCorps State / National program in Lawrence, Kansas, will work directly with students, implementing support strategies and collaborating with families and schools to promote student success.

Member Duties
  • Student Support Responsibilities
    • Maintain a caseload of 2-5 students
    • Assist with intake and assessments
    • Facilitate weekly student meetings focused on skill-building
    • Implement structured, research-supported strategies
    • Provide academic support and assist with problem-solving and goal setting
    • Facilitate communication between families, schools, and community partners
    • Coordinate with school staff and local service providers
    • Attend supervisory meetings as needed
    • Complete weekly documentation and progress reports
  • AmeriCorps Service Project
    • Complete an AmeriCorps service project, which may include:
    • Planning and implementing outreach activities
    • Presenting to university students, distributing informational materials, and assisting with recruitment efforts
    • Coordinating initiatives that strengthen program outreach
    • Supporting community-based events aligned with program goals
    • Collecting and analyzing data to inform program development and improvement
