Job summary

AmeriCorps State / National program in Lawrence, Kansas, will work directly with students, implementing support strategies and collaborating with families and schools to promote student success.

Member Duties

Student Support Responsibilities
- Maintain a caseload of 2-5 students
- Assist with intake and assessments
- Facilitate weekly student meetings focused on skill-building
- Implement structured, research-supported strategies
- Provide academic support and assist with problem-solving and goal setting
- Facilitate communication between families, schools, and community partners
- Coordinate with school staff and local service providers
- Attend supervisory meetings as needed
- Complete weekly documentation and progress reports
AmeriCorps Service Project
- Complete an AmeriCorps service project, which may include:
- Planning and implementing outreach activities
- Presenting to university students, distributing informational materials, and assisting with recruitment efforts
- Coordinating initiatives that strengthen program outreach
- Supporting community-based events aligned with program goals
- Collecting and analyzing data to inform program development and improvement
