Job summary

AmeriCorps & Senior Corps seeks members to work directly with students, implementing effective support strategies while collaborating with families and schools to promote student success. Members gain practical experience, skill development, and networking opportunities.

Responsibilities include maintaining a caseload of 2–5 students, assisting with intake, facilitating weekly meetings, providing academic support, and coordinating with school staff and community partners.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with students or in educational support roles.
  • Ability to coordinate with families, schools and community partners.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Member Duties

Student Support ResponsibilitiesMaintain a caseload of 2-5 studentsAssist with intake and assessmentsFacilitate weekly student meetings focused on skill-buildingImplement structured, research-supported strategiesProvide academic support and assist with problem-solving and goal settingFacilitate communication between families, schools, and community partnersCoordinate with school staff and local service providersAttend supervisory meetings as neededComplete weekly documentation and progress reportsAmeriCorps Service ProjectComplete an AmeriCorps service project, which may include:Planning and implementing outreach activitiesPresenting to university students, distributing informational materials, and assisting with recruitment effortsCoordinating initiatives that strengthen program outreachSupporting community-based events aligned with program goalsCollecting and analyzing data to inform program development and improvement
