Job summary

OWBC seeks a Center Director to oversee Head Start Center operations, ensuring health, safety, and educational development for children. You will supervise staff, review lesson plans, manage facilities, and coordinate with coordinators and partners to deliver high-quality services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with related child development or management coursework.
• Experience in licensed child-care center and supervisory roles preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple classrooms and staff with strong regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and staffing for Head Start Center.
• Oversee health and safety of children per Head Start and licensing policies.
• Hire, train, and supervise staff including performance reviews and coaching.
• Coordinate facilities, grounds, and supplies for a safe environment.
• Ensure classrooms follow approved curriculum and programs.
• Track child outcomes and collaborate with coordinators and community partners.
• Lead volunteer management and background checks; travel between sites as needed.
• Maintain waitlists and communicate with families; adhere to OWBC ethics.
