Job summary

Williamson and Burnet Counties Center seeks a Center Director to manage daily operations of a Head Start center, ensuring health, safety, and educational development for children. You will supervise staff, coordinate curricula, and ensure compliance with Head Start and licensing requirements.

Travel between sites, collaborate with program coordinators and community partners, monitor nutrition and waitlists, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12 college credit hours in child development and six in management and at least one year of licensed child-care center experience; or
• Associate’s of applied science in child development with six hours in child development and six in management and at least two years in a licensed center; or
• Sixty college credit hours with nine in child development and six in management and at least two years in a licensed center.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and staffing for a Head Start Center.
• Oversee health and safety compliance with policies and procedures.
• Review and sign weekly lesson plans for classrooms.
• Hire, supervise, and develop staff including performance reviews and coaching.
• Collaborate with Program Coordinators to ensure quality services for children and families.
• Coordinate volunteers with background checks and site safety.
• Monitor nutrition offerings and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Travel between sites for meetings and development seminars.
