Job summary

The Navy Region Naval District Washington Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Child Development Center Director to administer a medium/large center serving up to 200+ children. Responsibilities include program management, budgeting, and facility operations in accordance with DoW, DoN, and local policies.

The role requires a degree in ECE or related field, four years of relevant experience, and strong leadership and communication skills to ensure high-quality developmentally appropriate care

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in ECE or related field with four years of full-time experience with children/youth or a combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of DoW/DoN and local regulations governing military childcare.
• Understanding of financial, budget, and resource management practices.
• Ability to supervise others and manage personnel effectively.
• Strong communication in English, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Provide program oversight and accountability for staff performance and child safety.
• Establish age-appropriate programs and curriculum aligned with DoW/DoN policies.
• Develop and manage budgets and ensure funds are reported accurately.
• Oversee facility operations, maintenance, and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with parents, staff, and installation personnel to ensure quality service.
