Job summary

The Catholic Cemeteries Association is seeking a Field Laborer to maintain cemetery grounds, operate a range of equipment, and assist with burial services. The role involves preparing graves, landscaping, and supporting burials across Northeast Ohio.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and field-related experience. You will work various shifts and travel between cemeteries, with a commitment to safety and quality in all tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current and valid driver’s license required; clean driving history.
• 6 months or more related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares graves and maintains cemetery grounds.
• Performs snow removal.
• Maintains landscaping duties: trimming, pruning, mowing.
• Operates equipment: mowers, trimmers, Cushman, backhoe, dump truck, tractor, edger, hedge trimmer, chain saw.
• Position casket-lowering device and cover grave as needed.
• Erects tents/canopies and arranges chairs for burials; removes sod.
