Job summary

Essex Cement Company, a subsidiary of Titan America, seeks a Cement Sales Representative to promote and sell cement products across the NY five boroughs and Long Island. You will manage and grow an existing customer base, forecast demand, and work with the Sales Manager to meet territory targets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and at least three years of proven sales success, with a valid driver’s license and strong communication skills. Overnight travel is expected.

Overview

Essex Cement Company, a subsidiary of Titan America, has an excellent opportunity for Cement Sales Representative. The Sales Representative is responsible for the promotion and sale of cement products within our market region by maintaining and growing current customer base. This position reports to the Sales Manager. The territory is the NY 5 Boroughs and Long Island.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive safety culture through leadership by example; performs all work activities following all relevant safety policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate the ability to inspire and develop, build unity and facilitate cooperation, provide solutions and deliver results and envision and implement change.
• Attain sales goals for territory volume, selling price, and market share for cement and package product/masonry cement.
• Forecast customer and market demand.
• Resolve customer problems and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
• Collaborate to improve marketing, promotion, pricing, service, credit and logistics.
• Promote company brand and overall marketing strategies.
• Create demand and sell organization’s products to potential customers and prospects.
• Proactively recommend and implement actions to maintain our position in the market.
• Develop actions plans and create objectives and goals to meet company targets.
• Collaborate with customers as a supplier and strategic business partner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum three years proven sales success required.
• Must have positive attitude, be a self-starter and possess good problem-solving skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain and excellent driving record. Driving record must be acceptable to company insurance requirements; local knowledge of the region.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and reasoning skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• General knowledge of construction materials industry. Specific knowledge of cement a plus.
• Highly motivated, able to quickly build and maintain positive working relationships.
• Capability to learn and communicate cement product information.
• Good planning and time management skills; demonstrated self-starting behaviors.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Strong mathematical ability.
• Willingness to devote time necessary to accomplish strategic goals and objectives.
• Adaptable to change.
• Overnight travel required to attend sales meetings, trade conventions and to work with customers directly.
