Job summary

Jobtailor in Livermore, CA is seeking a quality technician to join our cement plant QA team. You will perform ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI testing, verify product quality, and maintain detailed test records while adhering to safety policies and PPE requirements.

The role supports process optimization through test data, assists with mix design, trains new staff, and participates in audits and plant outages as needed. Strong numeracy, Excel proficiency, and ASTM knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in applied science or at least 2 years of cement plant experience.
• ASTM certification (or ability to obtain within the first year).
• 2 to 4 years of experience in a quality-related role in the cement or heavy manufacturing industry.
• Strong numerical and testing skills.
• Understanding of ASTM standards.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Cemex, OSHA, and MSHA safety policies and wear proper PPE at all times.
• Perform ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI testing at cement and Ready Mix plants.

• Assist with product mix design and understand the impact of changes on kiln processes.
• Maintain detailed records of tests and inspections.
• Prepare reports related to quality and equipment issues.
• Perform lab housekeeping and basic equipment maintenance.

• Respond to callouts, participate in plant outages, and support other duties as assigned.
