Job summary

CRH is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee plant overhauls and capital projects. You will lead safety adherence, monitor budgets and schedules, and perform field inspections with regular progress reporting.

The role includes developing construction and maintenance procedures and coordinating testing activities across sites. Ideal candidates hold a 4‑year degree in a related field, with 5+ years of heavy construction project experience and PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 year/bachelors degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, mining, electronic instrumentation and technology or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects in heavy construction and/or process industry.
• Ability to negotiate effectively and use analytical methods to solve engineering problems.
• Familiarity with building codes and permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Monitor project budget, schedule, and work quality.
• Perform field inspections and report progress.
• Assist in development of plant project construction, start-up and maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate construction inspection and testing activities and address deficiencies.
• Ensure contractors comply with health and safety procedures.
• Contribute to feasibility studies and training for standard software in project management.
