Job summary

UNACEM North America Tehachapi Cement plant is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to ensure safe, reliable operation of plant equipment. You will perform mechanical maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting across conveyors, mills, kilns, crushers, and related systems.

You will read schematics and technical docs, use vibration analysis tools, welding equipment, and precision measurement instruments, and uphold MSHA and safety standards while supporting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman millwright knowledge and ability to pass assessment.
• Experience in industrial maintenance or heavy manufacturing preferred.
• Experience in cement or heavy industry preferred.
• Must obtain required certifications and join the union after probation.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of plant equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and report findings to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Maintain conveyors, mills, kilns, crushers, and related systems.
• Ensure alignment, lubrication, and readiness of equipment.
• Follow MSHA and safety standards.
• Read schematics and technical documentation.
• Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Raise safety hazards and escalate as needed.
