Job summary

Cemex US is seeking an Operator Control Room to independently manage milling and kiln systems under supervision. The role requires competence in operating both kilns and reading instrument diagrams, with emphasis on safety and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, basic math skills, and the ability to perform routine tests and minor electrical repairs, while maintaining a clean, safe work environment in a cement plant setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret instrument loop diagrams, sketches, and manufacturer specifications.
• Proficiency in performing basic chemical and physical control tests and reporting results.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cement plant repairs, refractory work, and kiln system maintenance.
• Read and interpret instrument diagrams, sketches, and specifications; perform tests and prepare reports.
• Start up and shut down the plant; perform minor repairs and adjustments to electrical equipment.
• Operate console equipment, CRTs, communications equipment, recorders, printers, keyboards and other control instruments.
• Understand electrical and pneumatic instrumentation for adjustments and minor repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues quickly and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Keep equipment and work areas clean, safe, and compliant with safety rules and PPE usage.
• Wear appropriate safety equipment on plant grounds.
