Job summary

The internship focuses on hands-on lab work, calibration reviews, and safe handling of chemicals, with full-time hours during the summer and onsite participation to support cementing operations.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer.
• Able to work onsite in Midland, TX.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines while preparing reports and presentations.
• Demonstrates problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Maintains professionalism when representing the organization.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform cement, water, and oilfield chemical tests in the lab.
• Operate standard oilfield lab equipment (cement consistometers, rheometers, etc.).
• Prepare cement mixtures and chemical solutions per specs.
• Review instrument calibration and adjust as needed.
• Design and model cement jobs, including slurry selection.
• Attend cement jobs in the field, assist rig up and down.
• Monitor bulk plant operations and safe loading techniques.
• Follow HSE policies and maintain a safe laboratory environment.
