Job summary

ProPetro is seeking a Cement Engineer Intern to learn and perform cement, water, and oilfield chemical tests in the Midland laboratory. You will assist designing and modeling cement jobs, review calibrations, and observe field operations to monitor execution and success.

The role requires active enrollment in an engineering degree, availability for full-time summer work (40 hours/week), and the ability to work onsite in Midland, TX.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer (late May through early August)
• Able to physically work onsite in Midland, TX
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines while performing reports and presentations
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
• Can maintain professionalism when representing the organization

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform cement, water, and oilfield chemical tests in the cement laboratory.
• Learn to operate standard oilfield lab equipment (e.g., cement consistometers, water baths, rheometers, water analysis kit).
• Learn how to prepare cement mixtures and chemical solutions following formulas or customer specifications.
• Learn how to review calibration on all designated instruments and adjust calibration when necessary.
• Learn how to design and model cement jobs, including slurry selection and optimization.
• Attend cement jobs in the field and monitor execution.
• Monitor bulk plant operations and develop understanding of loading techniques.
• Follow all policies and procedures safely without deviation and observe proper PPE usage.
• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental training and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned
