Job description

Field Sales Cell Therapy Specialist

Location: Nashville, TN | Field-Based
Territory: Tennessee / Alabama Metro Corridor
Compensation: $180K–$190K base + up to $100K annual bonus + equity + car allowance
Reports to: Regional Sales Director
Type: Full-time | Field Sales | High-Visibility Commercial Role
Sector: Biotech | Hematology/Oncology | Cell Therapy

About The Company

The company is a commercial-stage biotechnology organization advancing a market-leading CAR-T cell therapy for patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. The therapy is commercialized in partnership with a major global pharmaceutical company and is supported by a focused national field organization of approximately 43 representatives and six Regional Sales Directors.

This is a small, high-visibility commercial team where individual performance, account ownership, scientific credibility, and persistence matter. New hires receive an eight-week formal training curriculum, followed by an installation phase and field-based development.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Cell Therapy Specialist to own a strategically important Nashville-based territory covering key oncology, transplant, and cell therapy centers across Tennessee and Alabama.

This is not a traditional transactional pharmaceutical sales role. Success requires the ability to master complex science, develop deep relationships across multidisciplinary care teams, understand the competitive myeloma landscape, and navigate the operational complexity of cell therapy.

You’ll work with hematologists, oncologists, transplant coordinators, cell therapy program leaders, and other stakeholders at institutions including major academic cancer centers and community oncology networks throughout the region.

The strongest candidates will combine drive, resilience, intellectual curiosity, and account ownership. Prior cell therapy or hematology/oncology experience is valuable, but the organization is willing to invest significant training and ramp time in exceptional candidates with strong learning agility and a track record of succeeding in demanding environments.

What You’ll Do
  • Own Strategic Accounts
  • Develop deep relationships across major oncology and cell therapy programs throughout the Tennessee and Alabama territory.
  • Build credibility with hematologists, oncologists, transplant teams, cell therapy coordinators, and other clinical stakeholders.
  • Understand the organizational dynamics, patient pathways, clinical priorities, and operational challenges within each account.
  • Stay persistent with difficult or slow-moving accounts and develop long-term strategies that create measurable progress.
  • Drive Cell Therapy Adoption
  • Educate healthcare professionals on the clinical science, appropriate patient populations, and treatment pathway associated with a leading BCMA-directed CAR-T therapy.
  • Help accounts navigate the operational complexities surrounding cell therapy, including site onboarding, certification requirements, apheresis scheduling, manufacturing capacity, treatment coordination, and patient flow.
  • Partner cross-functionally to remove barriers that may prevent appropriate patients from accessing therapy.
  • Become a Scientific and Competitive Expert
  • Develop a sophisticated understanding of multiple myeloma, CAR-T therapy, BCMA-targeted treatments, bispecific therapies, and the evolving competitive landscape.
  • Translate highly technical clinical information into clear, credible conversations with sophisticated healthcare professionals.
  • Remain current on emerging data, treatment sequencing, competitive products, and changes within the multiple myeloma market.
You’d Be a Great Fit If You Have:
  • Proven success in a demanding sales, commercial, or leadership environment
  • Strong learning agility and the ability to master technically complex material quickly
  • Exceptional resilience, persistence, and follow-through
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with sophisticated customers
  • Comfort operating independently in a large, travel-intensive territory
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts without relying on jargon
  • A history of taking ownership rather than waiting for direction
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and solving problems without a fully developed playbook
Especially Relevant Backgrounds

We are particularly interested in candidates with backgrounds in:

  • Hematology/oncology pharmaceutical or biotech sales
  • Multiple myeloma commercial experience
  • CAR-T, cell therapy, or gene therapy
  • Oncology diagnostics or specialty therapeutics
  • Complex medical or life sciences sales calling on oncologists
  • Military leadership, particularly combat arms or special operations
