Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate Scientist to join the Gene Delivery & Editing Process Development team in Seattle. You will perform bioprocessing unit operations for AAV and LV batches at pilot scale, supporting process development and early clinical manufacturing for cell therapy programs.

The role requires both upstream and downstream operations, buffer prep, data analysis, and technical report writing, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Chemical/Biological Engineering, Immunology, Biology or relevant scientific discipline with 2-6 years biotechnology or cell therapy industry experience.
  • Downstream processing experience using chromatography and/or tangential flow filtration.
  • Strong scientific or technical writing skills.
  • Excellent documentation and data management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and on a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bioprocessing unit operations for Adeno Associated Virus and Lentivirus batches at 50-200L Pilot scale.
  • Conduct upstream (mammalian cell culture, bioreactor operation) and downstream (filtration, chromatography, TFF) work.
  • Prepare buffers, manage inventory, maintain lab notebooks, analyze data, and draft technical reports.
  • Present results and communicate findings to the team; adapt to evenings and weekend work as required.
  • Collaborate across projects to support process development and early clinical manufacturing for cell therapy programs.
