Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC seeks a CTL Specialist to lead manual and automated cell processing, expansion, and protocol development in a cellular therapy laboratory. The role supports clinical trials and patient care with a focus on compliant documentation and training new staff.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in basic science, 4–5 years in a clinical lab, and strong collaboration, computer, and PPE skills. Master’s preferred; salary range reflects DC market norms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in basic science or related field (Required).
• Master's degree in Biology or related field (Preferred).
• 4-5 years of experience in a clinical lab or GMP/GLP setting (Required).
• Knowledge of cellular therapy products, aseptic processing, and cell-based assays.

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with management about processing, product/assay development or equipment issues.
• Assists with development and implementation of new CTL protocols.
• Coordinates logistics including purchasing and shipping of equipment and products.
• Participates in the management and operation of the lab.
• Performs assays such as epitope mapping, immunofluorescence and IHC.
• Manages aseptic handling of products and related documentation.
