Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field
• Basic laboratory skills and familiarity with techniques such as mammalian cell culture, ELISA, Western Blot, and PCR
• Understanding of gene editing technologies such as CRISPR
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Available to work during the internship period June 7th – August 13th 2027
• All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and for the duration of their employment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, and optimization of cell‑based bioassays, including early feasibility and proof‑of‑concept studies for gene edited programs
• Perform laboratory experiments, including cell culture, molecular biology and cell‑based assay techniques, sample preparation, assay execution, and data collection
• Evaluate key assay parameters such as accuracy, precision, linearity, range, and robustness to assess assay performance and fitness for purpose
• Analyze and interpret experimental data, applying statistical tools to support assay design decisions and conclusions
• Document experimental procedures, results, and observations in electronic laboratory notebooks, may assist in drafting protocols, reports, and technical summaries
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot assay performance issues
• Present findings and progress in team meetings, including a final summer project presentation
• Maintain laboratory safety and compliance with standard operating procedures and good documentation practices
