Job summary

BeOne Institute in San Carlos, CA is seeking a PhD-level scientist to spearhead exploratory cancer biology efforts. You will design, execute, and interpret cellular experiments, and generate engineered cell models to test mechanistic hypotheses, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Candidates should have hands-on mammalian cell biology, experience with genetic perturbations (CRISPR-based knockouts/knock-ins or RNAi), and familiarity with transcriptomics or chromatin profiling.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, bioengineering, or related field with relevant research experience.
• Hands-on mammalian cell biology experience including genetic perturbation approaches (CRISPR, RNAi).
• Ability to design, execute, troubleshoot, and interpret experiments to test biological mechanisms.
• Experience generating and characterizing engineered cell lines for mechanistic studies.
• Experience with transcriptomics or chromatin profiling and other genomic/phenotypic approaches.
• Strong quantitative skills and ability to communicate data clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead or co-lead exploratory efforts on novel targets in oncology or immunology.
• Design, enable, execute, and interpret cellular experiments to test targets.
• Generate and characterize engineered cell models with genetic perturbations.
• Develop and apply experimental approaches including emerging profiling technologies.
• Stay current with literature and adapt science to project needs.
• Communicate progress and propose solutions to cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate across disciplines and drive innovation within the Institute.
• Maintain impeccable ELN records and support BeOne Institute objectives.
